Meteoradar – the most accurate precipitation forecast for the Czech Republic

The Meteoradar application is one of the most downloaded applications on iPhone and iPad. It offers a range of interesting features. It not only displays current precipitation over the Czech Republic, but also provides a forecast for the next hour. It also includes data on current temperatures, wind, precipitation, and weather conditions. Meteoradar allows you to track the weather development in real-time. The data is updated every 10 minutes.

• Precipitation and forecast (radar)

The application displays current precipitation over the Czech Republic and Germany on the map with a precision of up to 1 km. It also provides a forecast for their development in the next hour (available for the Czech radar). This allows you to accurately know when a storm will arrive directly in your city. Radar images of the Czech Republic are provided by CHMI (Czech Hydrometeorological Institute) and images of Germany are provided by DWD (German Weather Service).

• Weather station data

The map includes data from over 150 meteorological stations. Weather stations record temperature, wind, precipitation, as well as humidity and air pressure. The temperature trend is shown in a graph for each station.

• Lightning

In case of thunderstorms, the application also displays locations where lightning has struck. Based on radar images, you can see how the storm will further develop.

• Weather reports

The application shows weather information directly from users who monitor the weather in specific locations.

• Add weather information

The application allows you to submit weather information for your location. If there is a severe storm, for example, you can create a weather report in the application that will be read by hundreds of people. You can add an up-to-date photo or weather description. This way, you warn others about adverse weather conditions in your city that will likely affect others as well.

With a user-friendly widget, you can quickly get an overview of the current precipitation in our area.

The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute provides radar images and lightning detection data for the Czech Republic. The German Weather Service (DWD) provides radar images for Germany. The webcam database was provided by Webcams.cz.
